In order to ensure the quality of the end product, there needs to be a combination of front-end flavor development and back-end production consistency. All of our products are crafted with the consumer in mind. We value a full flavor and smoothness that you won't find elsewhere in other spirits.

How It's Made

To Chris Richeson, owner and gold-medal-winning distiller at Chesapeake Bay Distillery, craft spirit distilling isn’t just a matter of achieving a certain flavor profile or bottling in micro-batches – it’s about the entire chain of quality control that yields a superior product.  Chris believes that you need to begin with the end product in mind, then use your skills to create a process and production method that will produce that spirit. He will tell you that in order to ensure the quality of the end product, there needs to be a combination of front-end flavor development and back-end production consistency.

Anyone can claim to make a craft spirit, but few can claim to have the necessary combination of dedication, vision, and process that leads to a superbly consistent end result. As a Master Distiller, Chris has married art and science to create craft spirits that always offer the same award-winning flavors.

Blue Ridge Vodka

  • CBD’s flagship alcohol, made from 100% corn – gluten free

  • Artfully distilled and filtered using a carbon filtration system (30 hours)

Ghost Pepper Infused Vodka

(70 proof)

  • The peppers are smoked thoroughly to the point where they’re black so that chipotle flavors come through. 

  • Just the right amount of kick from smoked ghost peppers, adds a zip to every cocktail, balances sweet drinks, and makes a perfect Bloody Mary.

  • Extremely versatile and easily mixes with citrus, ginger, or a bloody mary

  • A happy heat, not a hostile heat

Lemon Liqueur

(40 proof)

  • Start with SBR and add 8 fresh squeezed lemons per bottle

  • It is NOT limoncello – it is “adult lemonade” – tart, but not overly sweet and light in texture

  • Limoncello uses rind, we use pulp

  • Lazy bartender lemon drop

  • All natural, no preservatives. We recommend refrigerating for long shelf life and better taste

  • Considered a liqueur because it is less than 60 proof

Chic’s Beach Rum

(80 proof)

  • Made with organic panela sugar which is super unrefined / unprocessed sugar. 

  • Hints of butterscotch, orange and banana

  • We incorporated wild yeast and bacteria collected from Chic’s beach to yield a truly unique flavor like no other local rum

  • We produce our rum in a very sterile, clean, controlled process so it doesn’t lose flavors during fermentation.

Tequila with Smoked Ghost Pepper

(80 proof)

  • Weber Blue Agave from Jalisco, Mexico is used for this tequila.

  • Smoked ghost peppers (Bhut Jolokia) are dried and soaked in 80 proof blue agave tequila for the infused concentrate. The concentrate is then added back into a batch of tequila. 

  • Floral citrus on the front followed by a smoky layer of advancing spice

  • Flavored and slightly sweetened with primary aromas of basil, pine, hops, and other herbal scents (19 total).  Secondary aromas of natural citrus and fresh botanical essences

  • Made from 100% corn, gluten free

Dr. Stoner’s Smoky Herb Whiskey

  • Using a whiskey aged between 2-5 years, the primary aromas of smoky herbs, charred grasses, and hops mix well with the subtle sweet whiskey flavor

  • 19 herbs plus 4 charred grasses – 23 flavors.  Secondary aromas of coffee, caramel, and cherry

  • Made from 100% corn - gluten free

Dr. Stoner’s Hierba Loca Tequila

  • The Tequila base is made from Highlands Weber Blue Agave imported from Jalisco Mexico.

  • This high-altitude agave takes 8-12 years to grow and gives the tequila a big bold floral fruity agave flavor as opposed to the earthy flavor of valley grown agave taking only 4 years to grow.

  • Gluten free 

  • The 19 infused fresh herbs add a smooth herbal finish making this tequila extremely pleasant not having that typical tequila bite at the end.

Dr. Stoner’s Hiebra Madura Bourbon Barrel Aged Tequila

  • Dr. Stoner’s Tequila Hierba Madura is made by maturing our Tequila Hierba Loca in freshly dumped Virginia bourbon barrels.

  • The agave is caramelized in a stone oven, then infused with Dr. Stoner’s special stash of herbs.

  • The initial taste and aroma is a silky smooth bourbon flavor. This is followed by the familiar agave flavor, fruity, floral and slightly smoky.

  • Dr. Stoner’s Island Bush Herb Rum boasts silky notes of vanilla and caramelized fruit flavors. It’s infused with fresh, smoky, and Caribbean herbs.

  • It’s made using 100% unrefined Panela dark brown sugar and is gluten free.
